Welcome to our twentieth Production Blog on “War of the Worlds: Goliath”
It’s been far too long since our last Blog, but we’ve been busy on the production as we move ever closer to completion. The final Take 1 footage of our movie’s 1578 scenes came in two months ago, which meant that we could at last create a hi-res Master and begin the month long editing process. As I write this, the editor is sitting with me at our Venice Beach studio merrily trimming and rearranging scenes.
I’ll give a full report on the edit next week. But I want to alert you all now to the great news that our second “War of the Worlds: Goliath” comics story is now out on the newsstand in the July issue of Heavy Metal magazine.
The story is called “Outpost” and it’s a darkly humorous and extremely violent little saga of a “last stand” against the invaders by a band of ARES misfits assigned to an isolated Artic base. ‘Think “The Thing” meets “Lobo” in this cheerfully over-the-top story written by the amazing Chi-ren Choong and penciled, inked, colored and lettered by the multi-talented Popia.
It’s beautifully done, but not for the faint hearted. ‘A true “Heavy Metal” story in every sense of the word. Here’s a couple of pages to give you an example and a teaser—
There’s twelve more pages of this in the magazine along with another 100 pages of the “usual” outstanding selection of art and story so get your today.
NEXT WEEK: We’ll show some of the edit and more of our movie’s fantastic imagery. Here’s a few for you to look at now—
