Production Blog

JULY 13, 2010

We’ll be back next week with the final Seoul Trip Production Blog next week, but I wanted to interrupt the normal Blogs to do a short Convention Report on the “War of the Worlds: Goliath” panels at the Paris Comic Con last week and the upcoming panel and autograph signings at the San Diego Comic Con at the end of this month.

Our movie’s talented cast and writer held court at the massive Paris Comic Con last July 4th on a “War of the Worlds: Goliath” panel to an enthusiastic audience.

As you may know, we have been fortunate to feature many of the terrific actors and actresses from the epic “Highlander” TV series in our film. The voices of Eric Wells (Peter Wingfield), Patrick O’Brien (Adrian Paul), Jennifer Carter (Elizabeth Gracen), Teddy Roosevelt (James Byrnes) and writer/co-producer (David Abramowitz) spoke at length about their characters and experiences working on an animated feature.

We also screened our Trailer, and about 5 minutes of footage featuring scenes with this talented crew. Peter, Adrian, Elizabeth, Jim and David: thanks for taking the time in your busy schedules to represent our film with such class and panache at this event.

Here’s another picture of the panel. Thanks to the attendees and who provided these!

And here’s a link to a video of the event—

And we will be at the SDCC again this year! “War of the Worlds: Goliath” will be holding a full panel and holding daily autograph sessions and giveaways at the mighty Heavy Metal magazine booth.

At the HM Booth last year.

Here’s our new SD T-shirt design.

Our panel will be held on Saturday July 24th from 6:00 to 7:00 in Room. Here’s the official SDCC Program copy—

6:00-7:00War of the Worlds: Goliath—
War of the Worlds: Goliath is an animated, 95-minute, battle epic set in a Steampunk 1914 Earth that has rebuilt and rearmed following the failed Martian Invasion of 1900. Set for release in early 2011, War of the Worlds: Goliath features voices by Peter Wingfield, Adam Baldwin, Elizabeth Gracen, Jim Byrnes, and Adrian Paul, among others.
Producer Kevin Eastman (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Heavy Metal), producer/director Joe Pearson (Roswell Conspiracies, Captain Simian and the Space Monkeys), producer/writer David Abramowitz (Highlander), and producer Leon Tan screen footage from the upcoming feature, discuss the production process, and hold a Q&A session. Room 5AB

This will be a lot of fun. I think you’ll dig the footage. Kevin, Leon and I will be there to answer any questions and we’ll hold a special raffle as well as be handing out some terrific giveaways like new posters.

Wait, there’s more. Kevin, Leon and I will also be at the Heavy Metal Booth on the convention floor for much of the Con. We’ll be screening the new footage on a loop and have daily autograph signings of a new (free!) poster and some great T-shirt giveaways. So come on by to get some swag and say “hello”.

Co-Producer, Mike Bloemdahl working the crowd. “Hey kid, you want a free poster…?”

Adrian Paul and Peter Wingfield at the Booth last year. Anyone feel the ‘ol Immortal “buzz” when these two Highlander giants were together?
